At South Carolina Community Cat Project, we fight for the forgotten. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in northern Spartanburg, SC, we rescue the sick, the abandoned, and the overlooked.
Every donation helps us save lives—providing food, medical care, and love to cats who’ve never known it.
Your support is their second chance.
South Carolina Community Cat Project is a small, foster-based, no-kill rescue. Our ability to take in cats is directly tied to the availability of fosters and volunteers, which makes our approach different from that of traditional shelters. Every cat or kitten that comes into our care receives necessary medical treatment and is placed in a loving foster home until we find their perfect forever family.
While we do not accept owner surrenders, our rescue focuses on helping the most vulnerable cats in our community—those with no one else to turn to.
We prioritize:
Although we wish we could assist every request, our limited resources mean we must prioritize the cases that align with our mission and capacity. If you’ve found a cat in need, please reach out—we’ll do our best to help or guide you in the right direction.
For help rehoming your own cat, please visit our Owner Surrender page for local options in the Spartanburg and Greenville, SC areas.
Thank you for supporting our work and helping us save lives.
Your support and contributions empower us to continue our community outreach and aid cats in need. All donations are tax-deductible. We sincerely appreciate your support!
